WHO AM I? What credentials do I have for offering training in Christian spiritual fitness?
I am Donald F. Andrews. I have a B.A. from William Penn College (University), Oskaloosa, Iowa, a Master of Ministry degree from Earlham School of Religion, Richmond, Indiana, ThD. ( by extension) from Christian Bible College and Seminary, Independence, Missouri. I have served as a pastor for over 40 years with various denominations - Friends, United Methodists, American Baptists and now, part-time with an Independent church. I have served in several states - Iowa, Oklahoma, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado, and Kansas.
Since I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior at the age of 9 I have been interested in becoming all I can be for Him. I immediately started reading the New Testament and took notes on how God expected me to live. Living a life of Christian spiritual fitness became my passion from age 9, but especially since I read Thomas Kelly's statement in his A Testament of Devotion, "Deep within us all there is an amazing inner sanctuary of the soul, a holy place, a Divine Center,a speaking Voice, to which we may continuously return." You see, Christian spiritual fitness is also known as the deeper Christian life and spiritual formation. This has been a passion of mine and I have been a student of it since my youth
I'm like the Apostle Paul - not yet all I want to be for Jesus, but (much of the time for me) giving it all I've got to move steadily forward.
I invite you to journey with me. Read my blog posts. We can encourage and teach each other.
May God bless you with His very best, Don
